Water savings are a fundamental priority for the future within the goals of the UNDP.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is mandated to assist countries in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Achieving this goal is crucial through sustainable management of water resources and access to clean water, which is a human right. With this initiative, we aim to raise awareness among the Costa Rican population about efficient water use by quantifying the consumption in homes, institutions, and businesses.

Our goal is to generate behavioral changes that allow for a decrease in the overall demand for water to reduce its extraction and the consequent costs of treatment and supply. We need a behavioral shift that leads to water savings, especially when the climate emergency and the El Niño phenomenon will make the availability of this precious resource more challenging.
